Kebun Belanti
Padang - West Sumatera
PORTOFOLIO
The once-barren land on Jalan Belanti, Padang, has been transformed into a vibrant community garden. This inspiring initiative is a collaborative effort between local residents, students, police officers, and other community members.
A key focus of this project is sustainable waste management. Organic waste generated by the community is collected and composted, providing nutrient-rich fertilizer for the garden. Additionally, the garden cultivates black soldier fly larvae, which efficiently convert organic waste into high-quality animal feed.
Beyond waste management, the garden promotes food security and environmental education. It offers a hands-on learning experience for people of all ages, teaching them about organic farming, composting, and environmental stewardship. By cultivating a variety of vegetables and herbs, the garden provides fresh, healthy produce for the community.
This community garden exemplifies the power of collective action. It not only beautifies the neighborhood but also contributes to a more sustainable and resilient community. By promoting environmental awareness and fostering a sense of community, this project is making a positive impact on the lives of local residents.
